Meet Our Coaches: The Neighbors Behind the Whistles

Our coaches aren't hired guns — they're parents, teachers, and neighbors from Chula Vista and City Heights who volunteer their Saturdays because they believe every kid deserves a great first experience with sports.

Trained, background-checked, kid-first

Every Community Choice coach completes a background check, concussion-awareness training, and our positive-coaching curriculum. The rule we repeat at every practice: catch kids doing something right. High-fives outnumber corrections ten to one.

Meet Coach Maria (Otay Thunder), a CVESD teacher's aide who has coached three seasons; Coach Andre (Chula Vista Comets), a former college midfielder; and Coach Fatima (City Heights Lions), who started as a soccer mom and now runs our Monday free-play nights.
