Water Above is a documentary that follows the stories of the pollution of the river with three children narrators, as their right to play is at threat.
We bring hope to a toxic playground, and solutions to enormous problems.
We follow how each child is empowered through telling their story, and learning how they can begin to clean up the river.

Like the river with it's many streams, the problem has many origins: growth economies, environmental degradation, extreme inequality - a strong symbol of how our system of exploitation cannot coexist with a healthy environment, which is our own very health

As I was scouting locations at the Coronado Community Center, I ran into Pamela. We played tennis together in high school, and she told me since then she had moved ten years ago already to Imperial Beach

"We are faced with a terrible choice, these old houses have no A.C. and when it gets hot the river releases an unbearable stench to rotten eggs. We are faced with dangerous heat, or toxic air. What can we do about it?"
