Service Description

Film is the most universal art form. Combining moving images with audio to create a realism that has made it the most popular medium in the world. The intention of this class is to bring filmmaking to anybody who is interested, regardless of their equipment. We live in an era of 4K smartphones, and we aim to make cinema democratic. How does our mindful filmmaking program look? - Day 1: Storytelling - what philosophy are we going to represent in our film? - Day 2: Toolbox - familiarization with film equipment, mindful attention using our senses - Day 3: Storyboard - what idea will we represent, and how does our film language communicate it - Day 4: Shooting - go to location and spend the day filming, meditation in nature - Day 5: Editing - finish shooting and edit the product to present it to your neighborhood Coupling the intrinsic therapeutic benefits of art, we add visualization, breathing and meditation techniques to not only become more creative, attentive and patient, but also make a resilient youth. As teenager struggle with excessive screen times, anxiety and solitude we bring them three big solutions: a way to express themselves deeper, techniques to self-regulate, a community they belong to and contribute to. The theme and topic of the film is collectively decided with the cohort and it is different each time. We present it afterwards to the community, usually at a park at night. Location: TBD - Chula Vista area (2 weeks before class) Location of Showing: TBD Chula Vista area Limited spots, reserve soon they tend to go fast.
